The death of Catherine Njeri at Ruaka, closely mirrors that of Jeff Mwathi at DJ Fatxo’s house.
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, five individuals have been apprehended and are now under arrest in connection with the untimely demise of Catherine Njeri, a vibrant 23-year-old college student.
The tragic incident occurred when Catherine allegedly fell from a towering seven-story building in Gacharage, Ruaka.
As the police diligently investigate to unravel the truth behind this sorrowful event, the suspects will remain in custody for a period of 10 days.
Catherine, a promising student at the Kenya Institute of Management, had innocently embarked on an evening of joy and celebration. Little did she know that destiny had a cruel twist awaiting her on that fateful night, as she ascended to the rooftop alongside her friend’s boyfriend at around 9:30 plus.
In the depths of the night, at around 11 pm, a piercing sound shattered the silence, Elvis Mboi, the apartments care-taker says.
“Ni kama huyo msichana alitoka na tenant wetu wakapanda seventh floor pavilion, tenant anaishi sixth floor so sisi tukiwa hapa chini ndio tuliskia sauti ni kama mkeka imeanguka juu gari ilikuwa pale singeweza kuidentify directly ndio nikapanda mahali nikaona ni mtu hapo ndio nikapigia polisi,” Mboi narrates.
Shortly after, Mr Mboi quickly notified Njeri’s friends who were still inside the house, enjoying the party. They hastily made their way outside to see what had happened to the person who had passed away.
“Walikuwa scared wote. Hata wenye walikuwa wamelala walishuka wakijaribu kuona vile watasaidiana. Mmoja wao alikuwa anataka kumfunika lakini police waliniambia mtu asiguze hiyo mwili nikamkataza,” he told Citizen Digital.
We can only hope that justice will prevail and that the truth will be unveiled, providing solace to those left behind to mourn the loss of Catherine Njeri, a cherished daughter, a beloved friend.
The unfortunate death of Catherine Njeri comes at a time when netizens are still demanding for justice in the death of Jeff Mwathi, who passed on a while back at mugithi singer DJ Fatxo’s apartment after a night out.
