Amber Ray And Her Luo Bae Rapudo Stranded In Mauritius After Kenya Airways Messes Up Their Vacation

Amber Ray and her sweetheart Kennedy Rapudo have been affected by the ongoing Kenya Airways pilots’ strike.

Rapudo flew Amber Ray to Mauritius to celebrate her birthday.

The lovebirds heard about Kenya Airways pilots’ strike while enjoying their baecation in Mauritius.

In a post on social media, Amber Ray complained that they tried to reach Kenya Airways in vain as they wanted to confirm their flight back home.

“I know Kenya Airways to be my pride and joy. Today however we were left stranded as we could not reach them for our flight confirmation which is due tomorrow.

“We later heard there is a strike via social media, and since we could still not reach them…we figured tujipange at least tusiongeze stress nyumbani as I believe many others are already doing.

“We decided to book another flight through Dubai (not KQ and with a 2 day layover 🤭Good for our Mauritius hangover anyways right😉),” Amber Ray wrote in part.

The socialite also lamented that when they finally managed to reach out to Kenya Airways, the airline offered a Ksh15,000 refund out of Ksh340,000 that they had paid for their business class flight back home.

“HOWEVER 😡KQ wants to refund us 15K…from a ticket worth 340k surely. We don’t need a refund, but retain your honor and give us a voucher as we have future flights with you. It is not fair to keep your people stranded with no communication and also punish us for making other plans when the issues are from your end. @officialkenyaairways get me some assistance please as it is unlike you and can be corrected,” Amber Ray wrote.

Kenya Airline Pilots Association (KALPA) in a statement said its members would begin their industrial strike on Saturday, October 5, 2022, after Kenya Airways management failed to address their grievances.

The union, which draws a majority of its membership from the troubled carrier, announced that the strike would take effect from 6:00 am, affecting both inbound and outbound flights.

“Kenya Airline Pilots Association (KALPA), the representative voice of all pilots in the country, Kenya Airways included, wishes to inform members of the public that beginning Saturday, 5th November 2022, from 6.00 am local time, there shall be no Kenya Airways aircraft departing Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) flown by a KALPA member,” KALPA Secretary General Murithi Nyagah said.
