Diamond Platnumz is calling on Kenyans to unite and forge a peaceful country following the end of a divisive campaign period.
The Bongo singer sent a message to Kenyans moments after Chebukati declared Ruto the winner of the bitterly contested presidential election.
“Pongezi sana wana Kenya kwa kuhitimisha zoezi la uchaguzi na kumpata rais leo… Sasa hivi tena si Team Ruto, Wajackoya ama Team Odinga, ni pamoja Team Kenya ili kwa pamoja kuendeleza maendeleo ya Kenya na wana Kenya kwa ujumla…” Diamond wrote.
Diamond supported Raila Odinga for president and even performed in Nairobi at the final rally held by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance.
The Tanzanian crooner was in Nairobi on Saturday, August 6th 2022 – the same day his daughter Latiffah was celebrating her 7th birthday.
The Bongo singer flew from Johannesburg to Nairobi on Saturday, performed at Kasarani stadium and headed back to South Africa on the very same day.
Diamond tagged along his daughter when he jetted to Kenya to perform at Azimio’s final rally.
