Eric Omondi, Bodyguards Arrested For Protesting Against High Cost Of Living At Parliament

Eric Omondi says life is hard for many Kenyans. Unga Juu! Mafuta Juu! Stima Juu!

On Tuesday, the outspoken comedian was arrested after leading other men in a protest against rising living costs in Nairobi’s streets.

The bare-chested men carrying placards chanted bado mapambano (the struggle continues) as they marched to Parliament demanding to speak to Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.

The cost of living in Kenya now varies depending on a number of factors such as the region, the type of accommodation, food preferences, and lifestyle choices.

However, in general, Eric Omondi says the costs of living in Kenya are relatively high compared to some other countries in the region and citizens are suffering.

Things are tough, and Kenyans have been complaining since last year. Food prices have gone up, electricity name it.

“Stima juu, maji juu, unga juu, tax juu” the protesters carried messaged placards to parliament.

Police used tear gas to disperse the group as they attempted to storm Parliament buildings, arresting the protesters.
