MC Jessy is proud of his polygamous heritage, the comedian-turned-politician reveals the practice has been successful because of Meru culture.
Jessy opened up about being born and raised in a polygamous marriage while speaking during a recent interview.
He revealed his dad had multiple wives and that he was raised by his step mothers after his father died when he was in lower primary and his biological mom passed on when he was doing his class 8 exam.
The wannabe South Imenti MP said that he was raised in a family full of love contrary to what happens in most polygamous families.
“I was like two years and my mum died when I was in class 8. We are many, I have brothers and I grew up in a society full of love. My dad had children from another wife, my mum had two children. I come from a polygamous family. We are on good terms in all of them. We have never known the differences. Some uncles, I used to think they are my brothers since we grew up together. Meru culture doesn’t make you feel like you don’t belong. People love me, the only problem is that they were poor. I felt alone when I came to Nairobi,” MC Jessy said during an interview with Mpasho.
The comedian-turned-politician exuded confidence that he will win South Imenti parliamentary seat in the forthcoming August 9th general election.
“I studied and lived in South Imenti but came to hustle in Nairobi. So, people in Meru know me as their mhesh since kitambo, I talk about my people everywhere I go including when on TV. I am waiting to be sworn in. We are doing our best every day and people are receiving us well. They don’t know me as the MC Jessy the entertainer. They know me as their incoming mheshimiwa running under UDA party,” he said.
