Jomo Kenyatta Bought All His Lands At 2 Shillings Per Acre-SK Macharia

Royal Media Services chairman SK Macharia has said that the former president Jomo Kenyatta did not steal even an inch of land.

While castigating those who have been condemning the late president Jomo Kenyatta for land grabbing, SK Macharia made it clear that the founding father bought all his land at 2 shillings per acre, because it was during the period of land transfer program.

As a result, the Royal media services owner said that he is ready to take such people to the archives so that he can show them the proof that the first president owned land legally.

He made these sentiments as he defended Raila Odinga’s record on corruption, maintaining that he could defend him to the last man since he (Raila) has never stolen anything from the public just like himself.

“And corruption must be eliminated first from the judicial system. There is no country that has developed in this world that has a corrupt judicial system and the rest will follow. And we believe baba who has not touched, he is like me, anything public, I know him, i can vet for him, i vet for his father, i vet for Kenyatta. Those who claim that Kenyatta stole land, I am ready to go with them to the archives. All his land that he got during the land transfer program has my signatures and the late Gakonyo. And we were selling an acre for two shillings and he paid.” Said SK Macharia.

In the meantime, the philanthropic billionaire recently opened up on how hard it was for him when he was growing up, explaining that he first travelled to the United States by bus with only KSh 1200 pocket money.

I went to the US by bus. It took me nine months, with KSh 1,200, and left my father and three sisters without a piece of land in the village,” he suggested.

SK Macharia has really invested heavily in different sectors including real estate, transport, banking, and telecommunication.

He is the founder and chairman of Royal Media Services which owns several stations which transmit in both English, Kiswahili, and vernacular.

They include Ramogi FM, Inooro FM, Musyi FM, Chamgei FM, Muuga FM, Egesa FM, Bahari FM, Mulembe FM, Wimwaro FM, Sulwe FM, and Vuuka FM. SK also owns Inooro and Citizen TVs as well.

Citizen TV is ranked among the best stations across Kenya with the highest number of viewers. He earns handsomely from Gross Rating Point – a standard measure in advertising and Television Rating Point. It is a tool provided to judge which programmes are viewed the most.
