Lupita Nyong’o was sitting right next to Will Smith during Oscar award gala when he stormed the stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock.
Will Smith jumped onstage and smacked Chris Rock while the comedian was presenting the Best Documentary at the 2022 Oscars.
Smith was totally irked by a joke made by Chris Rock about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. The comedian joked about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss, a symptom of alopecia.
“Jada, love you, G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see it,” Rock said, before the actress rolled her eyes
Will Smith appeared to laugh at the joke at first but then walked up onstage, landed a hot slap at Chris Rock’s cheeks and returned to his seat.
“Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me,” Chris Rock says, after he made joke about Jada Pinkett’s bald head
“Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth” twice Will Smith yelled at Chris Rock as the comedian tried to make sense of what just happened.
Rock told the audience, “Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me. It was a G.I. Jane joke. That was the greatest night in the history of television.”

Lupita Nyong’o, who was sitting right next to Will Smith, was completely frozen as she watched the whole drama unfold right before her.

Will Smith later revealed during his acceptance for the Best Actor that Washington told him, “At your highest moment, be careful, that’s when the devil comes for you.”
