Millicent Omanga is among the election losers who have been shortlisted for Chief Administrative Secretaries (CAS) positions.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) on Monday February 20, 2023, released the list of shortlisted candidates for the (CAS) positions.
The position falls below the Cabinet Secretary (CS) and above the Principal Secretary position and is often considered a reward for key allies who lose elections.
According to the list shared by PSC, notable names who lost in the August 2022 elections dominated with the majority being president William Ruto’s key allies and Azimio rebels who shifted allegiance to the Kenya Kwanza government.
Those shortlisted candidates will appear before the PSC interview panel on March 1, 2023, and Kenyans have been urged to submit petitions on the names of those shortlisted by Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
If they qualify, the candidates will be appointed by President Ruto to serve on a contract basis.
Millicent Omanga was among the election losers shortlisted for the CAS position.
Omanga contested for Nairobi Woman Representative seat in the August 9, 2022, General Election and lost to Esther Passaris.
Passaris, who vied on an ODM ticket, garnered 698,929 votes while UDA Party’s Omanga was second with 586,246 votes.
Omanga conceded defeat early and congratulated Passaris on her victory.
“I want to thank the people of Nairobi who voted for me & those who didn’t. I accept the results even though they’re not in my favour. Esther Passaris has won, she deserves our support & prayers as she steers the office of Woman Rep for the next 5 years. May God bless our country,” Omanga tweeted.
The former nominated senator missed out on UDA nominations to Parliament, missed Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretaries appointments but eventually she was shortlisted for CAS position.
Omanga couldn’t hide her joy after being shortlisted for CAS position. She was seen in a viral video violently shaking her fat booty as she celebrated.
