Miracle Baby Of Defunct Sailors Gengetone Group Forced To Be Mugiithi Singer

From spitting hot vibes in ‘Wamlambez’ hit song to singing Mugiithi songs, Sailors’ Miracle Baby has been forced to adapt to remain relevant in the music industry.

Miracle Baby, whose real name is Peter Mwangi, was forced to change from being a rapper to being a vernacular singer after his music ground was doomed.

Speaking to Word Is, Miracle Baby said the Gengetone quintet is still on a break, they haven’t quite figured it out how to make a comeback.

“We decided to go on a break as there was so much going on,” Miracle Baby said.

Miracle Baby also revealed that he is currently doing Mugiithi music, which he says is much appreciated.

“The industry has so many games coming from the fans, promoters and so on, and others are killing talents through theft. That is why Sailors is on break.

“Mugiithi is appreciated so much. I decided to go do something that can bring food to the table. Sailor group is not dead, we meet and talk. We decided to go on a break so that also fans can miss our music,” said Miracle Baby.

Media personality Mwalimu Rachel cut all ties with Sailors in 2020, a move that doomed the music career of the Gengetone music group.

Rachel, who managed Sailors for over two years, fell out with the group in 2019 and held on to all the passwords to their social media platforms.

She also denied Sailors access to their YouTube channel, which had all their previous songs and millions of video views.

Sailors said that Mwalimu Rachel demanded Ksh1.5 million from the group before she could release the passwords, an allegation she did not deny, saying the group and their current handlers needed to pay her for her input in building and popularizing their brand.
