Nini Wacera met a man in a nightclub who impregnated her and disappeared leaving her completely broken.
The celebrated actress opened up about the dark side of her life during Engage Talk, revealing the resentment she harboured towards her parents.
Wacera revealed that one evening while partying in a nightclub in the heart of Nairobi she met a man who completely swept her off her feet.
She fell heads over heels in love with him and after only two months she had gotten pregnant for him.
Wacera was so thrilled when she discovered that she was pregnant for her sweetheart.
The actress got a rude shock when she informed her parents about just the pregnancy.
Her father, in particular, was furious and gave her two ultimatums; to either marry the father of her unborn child or terminate the pregnancy.
In the end, she decided to abort the child as her boyfriend fled when he found out that she was pregnant.
Her father insisted that he had a reputation to uphold and as such Wacera had no option but to abort the unborn baby.
“I had the naive expectation that my dad would back me and stand by my side, but he didn’t have a fascination with me,” she said in her narration.
“I was destroying his credibility,” she added.
Wacera procured the abortion at a clinic in Eastleigh, Nairobi, which was operating illegally.
The actress detailed the mental and bodily devastating impact that the incident had on her.
She is unable to reconcile either herself or her parents for what they did to her. She said that her attractive nature off-screen could hide anything, but underneath all those scenes, grief had been her main source of sustenance.
The actress has revealed that she regularly has overwhelming feelings and tears, which may be a result of her contemplating what life would entail if she had her own child.
