Akothee has come out to heap praise on President Uhuru Kenyatta who helped her earn a staggering Ksh400 million from her investment.
The mother of two said she was inspired by President Uhuru to invest in tree planting and that she planted her own forest in rural home in Rongo, Migori county.
Akothee planted a staggering 40,000 fast growing Eucalyptus trees on her farm in Rongo.
Eucalyptus is a straight fast-growing tree, that can grow to a height of up to 50 meters and diameter at breast height of 2 meters.
Generally Eucalyptus are preferred by many people because they can grow rapidly, especially in the initial years – typically 1 meter (3⅓ft) or more a year.
Many Eucalyptus types grow as fast as 10 to 15 feet per year depending on the species of the tree planted.
Akothee planted her little forest of Eucalyptus trees eight years ago and now they are mature and ready to be harvested for timber or whatever use.
The mother of five expects to sell her 40,000 Eucalyptus trees at Ksh10,000 each, thus making Ksh400 million.
