Radio Presenter Njogu Njoroge Pokes Hole In Figures Given By IEBC Vice-Chairperson Juliana Cherera

Four commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) disowned the presidential results given by Wafula Chebukati.

The commissioners led by Vice-Chairperson Juliana Cherera cited four reasons why the results announced by IEBC chairperson were his own.

Cherara said that the percentage of the presidential results announced by Chebukati exceeds the 100 per cent threshold.

“The aggregation of the percentages of the results scored by the four presidential candidates who were on the ballot as declared by Mr. Chebukati presented to us a mathematical absurdity that defies logic. TAKE NOTICE that Mr. Chebukati’s aggregation was as follows;
RAILA ODINGA—48.85%
WILLIAM RUTO—50.49%
WAIHIGA MWAURE—0.23%
WAJAKOYA GEORGE—0.44%
____________
TOTAL 100.01%
“0.1% translates to approximately 142,000 votes, which would make a significant difference in the final result,” Cherara said.

Cherara’s claimed that the 0.01 per cent was representing 142, 000 votes. Basic mathematics has it that 0.01 per cent of 14.2 million would only give a value of just 1420 as opposed to Juliana’s figures.

Radio presenter Njogu Njoroge poked fun at Cherara’s claims, suggesting that he went to the same Math school with her.

“I now strongly suspect Juliana Cherera and I went to the same School of Mathematics. I recall when doing Communication Statistics, the Lecturer and another student were arguing if the answer was 14.4 or 14.5…..
My calculations had given me a few hundred thousands..Maths, hapana,” Njogu Njoroge wrote.
