Radio Africa Group has already laid off 40 employees among them Caroline Mutoko.

The media house, which owns several radio stations including Kiss FM, Classic 105, Radio Jambo, Star Newspaper among others, is laying off an unknown number of employees.

Radio Africa has already sent home around 40 employees and it is set to dismiss more in September.

Veteran radio presenter Caroline Mutoko is among the employees who have been laid off.

The radio queen has been serving as the Group Marketing Manager and Kiss 100 program controller.

Mutoko left Radio Africa Group by mutual agreement with the management.

She has worked for the outlet since 1989 in various positions including as Kiss FM presenter for 14 years.

Radio Africa is among several media houses that have conducted mass layoffs amid dwindling advertising revenues.

Nation Media Group, the largest outlet in the region, recently sent home journalists as it struggles to transform into a digital publisher.

Editors, reporters, online video producers, and magazine editors were termed redundant.

Standard Media Group, which has been struggling to pay salaries since last year, also sent home top talent in a bid to trim its workforce.
