Murkomen Reveals How Late Senator Tried To Save Him From Uhuru’s Wrath

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Marakwet has mourned the late nominated senator Victor Prengei as one of the leaders who tried to save him from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s wrath.

Senator Murkomen revealed that the late senator is one of the leaders in the Senate that refused to take a bribe from the State House so that he could support his impeachment as the Senate Majority Leader.

Referring to him as a principled man, Murkomen noted that he had tremendous respect for the late senator after he turned down Ksh.5 million bribe from the State House.

According to Murkomen, Prengei was a loyal man and a firm believer in the presentation of the youth.

“Prengei was one of the people who was called from State House, and he was threatened and told there’s no one else from the Ogiek community, so he had to show up for the meeting.”

“They also called his friends and asked them to pressure him to remove Susan and me. They promised him Ksh2 million, and he declined, they offered ksh5 million, and he still declined before switching off his phone,” Murkomen as reported by Kenyans.co.ke.

Murkomen further claimed that the late Prengei was enticed by the State House but still stood his ground and refused to betray his and Senator Kihika. According to Murkomen, it was Prengei’s stand that made him black-listed by the Jubilee party.

Prengei was among the six senators who the ruling party expelled over alleged disciplinary violations.

Prengei by the National Management Committee alongside senators Christine Gona, Isaac Mwaura, Millicent Omang, Mary Seneta, Falhada Dekow Iman, and Naomi Jillo Waqo.
