Chimano has found himself on the wrong side with netizens who are now blaming him for the split of Sauti Sol.

According to several Twitter users, Sauti Sol had no option but to be disbanded because Chimano is not straight, which is against the African culture.

Sauti Sols break up is something that couldn’t be evaded since Chimano came out as gay. Owing to the influence, they had no option but break up because this is Africa,” Mutua Brian said

This is however not the possible cause of the split since  Bien, Savara and Polycarp have always stood up for Chimano whenever he encounters challenges because of being gay.

Other netizens have however noted that the split will see music careers of some of the members go down the drain.

“Sauti Sol wameamua kila mtu afanye mambo yake kivyake. Bien will explode, Chimano and Savara will be average musicians, fancy fingers will die a natural death,” read another tweet.

Sauti Sol left netizens talking after announcing that members will be taking a break from band activities indefinitely later this year.

In a statement they released on Saturday, the band said that they proceed to the break after undertaking a world tour that is set to commence this Sunday and end on September 3. The band will be performing in US, Canada and Europe.

The band did not give deeper details as to why the decision was arrived but noted it was a new beginning for the members who want to explore ‘fresh creative avenues’ and embark on ‘personal endeavors.’

“Sauti Sol will also be dropping their last album together this year which promises to be a fitting reflection of their musical journey as a band. Fans can look forward to a new single that is coming very soon, which will be  a taste of what’s to come from the band’s final album.
