Milele FM presenter Alex Mwakideu was such a casanova boy during his heydays, he narrated how he dumped his ex girlfriend for his currennt wife Mariam Mwemba.
Mwakideu opened up about his past like never before while appearing on Churchill Show journey series edition.
The popular radio presenter revealed that he was born and raised in a polygamous family in Mombasa, his father had two wives. He said that he had 18 siblings and that he is the lastborn.
Mwakideu said that his childhood was tough because he was raised in a poor family. He disclosed that they lived in a single room, and that his siblings and him used to sleep on the floor.
Speaking on matters relationship, Mwakideu said that he was in another relationship when he started hitting on his current wife Mariam Mwemba.
The Milele FM presenter noted that Miriam turned down his romantic advances because she knew that he was still dating another woman.
“Mariam alinisumbua kweli. Nilimkatia since 2006. Alikuwa ananiambia wewe bado hujatulia. Nilikuwa na dem wakati huo lakini bado namkatia (It was not easy to convince her to date me. She kept telling me that I was not ready to settle down and during that time, I was in a relationship with someone else),” Mwakideu said.
The Milele FM presenter said that Miriam ultimately agreed to date him after eight years of trying to woo her.
“Mpaka nilivo kuja Nairobi nikamwambia sina mtu ndio akanilubali. Nikamuoa 2014 (She accepted to date me after I moved from Mombasa to Nairobi and we got married in 2014).”
Mwakideu and his wife Mariam Mwemba are now blessed with three children together.
