Woman Killed Her Boyfriend For Refusing To Marry Her For Not Having Money For Her Dowry

One Mr. Joseph Kariuki was two weeks ago murdered by three men who were contracted by her ex-girlfriend.

Kariuki, who was 25-year-old during the time of his passing was killed after he reportedly refused to marry her ex. He ran a private clinic in Juja.

Sleuths are currently probing the murder of the 24-year-old.

The suspects are four; three men and his 19-year-old- ex-girlfriend. The three men aged between 19-22 executed Mr. Joseph Kariuki under the orders of his ex-girlfriend who was still bitter that she was refused marriage by the late Kariuki.

According to the Juja Sub County Criminal Investigations Officer, Richard Mwaura, the young men were arrested in Nyeri while the deceased’s girlfriend was arrested in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County on Friday.

“Two of the men are Boda Boda operators in Nyeri town while the third accomplice is a taxi driver in the same town.

The girlfriend works in Kerugoya. We have intelligence to show the suspects had been contracted by the girlfriend to eliminate the medic,” Richard Mwaura said.

Among the three men who were contracted to kill Joseph Kariuki, some of them confessed to the police that they were contracted by the girl to kill the late medic who operated in Juja.

Joseph Kariuki was murdered inside his private medical clinic at Riuriro area in Theta Ward, Juja Sub County on the night of November 24, 2021.

On that day, strangers claimed that they had a patient who needed an urgent medical attention requesting him(Joseph Kariuki) to rush to his private clinic in Juja.

Kariuki was stabbed to death as soon as he reached his clinic by the contracted killers who were hired to kill him.

Prior to his death, Joseph Kariuki had an serious altercation with his girlfriend turning down her demands of getting married.

Peter Ng’ethe, Kariuki’s father opened up to the members of the press that his first-born son had intimated that he was planning to abandon his girlfriend after they had a disagreement on matters of dowry payment and wedding.

Mr. Ng’ethe noted that his his son insisted that he didn’t have any money to organize a wedding and pay dowry as demanded by his girlfriend, at least not at the moment.

He said the girl visited his home on several occasions and was adamant that she was to be married in his family.

“My son wanted time to build his career as he couldn’t afford the expenses involved. They parted ways and it seems the girl took revenge,” Joseph Kariuki’s father said.
